Helping children succeed with family and school support

What is Learning Disability?

A learning disability affects the brain's ability to receive, process, store, and respond to information. People with learning disabilities usually have average to above average intelligence but have difficulty in acquiring academic skills.  One of the terms often associated with learning disabilities is dyslexia.

There is no cure for learning disabilities; however, most children can learn strategies that will help them acquire information in a way that is appropriate to them.  The earlier children acquire these skills, the better their chances are of later school success.

Having a learning disability does not keep children from becoming successful in life.  There are many adults with learning disabilities that are very successful.  The most important thing is that children get diagnosed at a young age and that services are given to strengthen areas of weakness.

Our assessment services will provide you with information on the specific needs of each child.  Once we have assessed a child to find the areas of difficulty, we can provide one-on-one services to address these needs.
